Smoking, Stress Healer or Slow Suicide?



            As we know, smoking damages our health. Cigarette contains many chemicals. When you inhale smoke from a cigarette, small amounts of these chemicals get into your blood through your lungs. They travel to all the parts of your body and cause harm. Smoking can causes some diseases like cancer, stroke, heart attack, high blood pressure, bronchitis, cataracts, reduced fertility, and pregnancy smoker will suffer miscarriage, premature labor, low birth weight, and risk for sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). According to American Heart Association, “cigarette smoking is so widespread and significant as a risk factor that the Surgeon General has called it "the leading preventable cause of disease and deaths in the United States.” 
Smoking is dangerous either for men or for women. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said adult male smokers lose an average of 13.2 years of life while female smokers lose 14.5 years of life (American Heart Association.com). It can be said that women have big risk of smoking. They who have greater risk of smoking are under 50 years old than in those over 50 years old. In our environment, the younger are more dominant than the older. They have greater temptation to smoke when they are far from their parents range. 
When someone gets a problem, he always tries to get the solution. He can share his problem with his family, friend, coworkers, and even the psychologist to solve his problem. Sometimes it is difficult to find someone who can understand and help him without reserve. On the other hand, his friend has given the solution but it is not collateral with his mind. He will feel stress, so he gets muscular tension, anxiety, and panic. He does not know what he should do. To heal this stress he tends to smoke because nicotine, as a euphoric agent causes relaxation from stressful situations. The problem comes from our self, the one and only who can help us is our self. Besides that, we have to believe in God. The problem created to make us learn and thank to God.
By smoking, someone indirectly kills himself. It cannot be doubt that nicotine and other chemicals cause some diseases that lead us to die. In the United States, almost half a million die each year from the smoking illness. The die rate of the smoker is higher and higher, it called premature die that can attack second hand smoke. Most smokers have known about it, but they do nothing. They still do their bad habit and behave as if there is nothing to worry. The passiveness will make them regret someday. They will suffer diseases and have shorter time to live. Moreover, they have to be hospitalized for a long time until they recover from the diseases.
In my opinion, smoking is bad choice to heal stress but it is slow suicide. Therefore, it is better for us not to smoke when we face a problem. It does not give any solution but give many problems. If we keep smoking, it is the same with shortening our live. You must quit smoking as soon as possible.
